Why Air New Zealand Plane was Evacuated at Wellington Airport?

There was a recent accident that took place when people were traveling with Air New Zealand. The airline has to make an emergency landing at the Wellington Airport on the 1st of September, 2024. The reason because of why Air New Zealand Plane Evacuated all its passengers was caused by a burst oil pressure seal. The airline's main focus was to save all its passengers so they do not witness any harm and do not have to go through any inconveniences.

Before we go further and look closely into the matter, let us have a look over the statements that people made related to the Evacuating Air New Zealand Flight when they were onboard.

“I didn't know anything was happening until we landed, and it was quite quiet,” said the 16-year-old.

On the other hand, one of the passengers, Alex Anderson, said that he did not have any idea of what was happening around him because he was indulging in music with high sound. Adding more to that, he said, “So I took out my earbuds ... I could smell a bit of smoke. The cabin was quite dark, which is unusual.”

Alexy Anderson was one of the people who helped in the evacuation of passengers from the pain and tried their best to save their lives. He said, “So the person next to me pulled out the door and I chucked it out the window, and then we had to jump down, probably like six foot to the concrete below.” Then, they started to help others so they could get out of the aircraft safely without any injuries.

He described the evacuation of New Zealand flight NZ5366 as “Nerve-racking" and said, “I feel bad for the people that did get shaken up, but overall, yeah, it was definitely something to live through.”

The smoke was visible from the aircraft's engines at the time of landing. An Air New Zealand spokesperson said that the cause of the incident is still unknown, but they are working on it.

Further, he added that the Plane evacuated at Wellington Airport had a safe landing, and people witnessed no injuries. The least the airline could confirm about the incident was that it happened because of an engine fire.

Many emergency vehicles immediately approached the runway when they saw the smoke coming out of the plane. Once the aircraft stopped, people could be seen coming out of it without even using the stairs for safety.
