Carry-on Luggage Allowance

  • Every passenger is permitted to carry one carry-on luggage bag along with 1 personal item. 
  • The dimensions of your luggage must not exceed 115 cm or 45 linear inches (Length X Height X Width). 
  • The weight must be restricted to 12 KG. 
  • Whereas if you have a Business or First-class ticket, you are permitted to carry 2 carry-on bags. The weight of the bags must not exceed 18 KG, and the dimensions must be restricted to 115 cm or 45 linear inches.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Economy Class

  • Passengers are permitted to carry 2 pieces of luggage, and they must be restricted to 23 KG or 50 lbs. 
  • The sum of the dimensions of the luggage (both) must not exceed the size of 107 inches or 273 cm. 

Business Class

  • Each Business-class flier is allowed to carry 2 pieces of luggage and a maximum weight of 32 KG is permitted to carry. 
  • The dimensions must be restricted to 62 inches or 158 cm.

First Class Flier 

  • Anyone flying in first class is allowed to carry 2 pieces of luggage.

  • If you are a Morning Calm Club member, you can carry 1 piece of extra luggage for First and prestige classes, and the weight limit for Economy is 23 KG. (For flights to/from America, this rule may not be applied). 
  • You are allowed to carry 1 additional piece of luggage for the First and Prestige classes, and the weight must not exceed 32 KG for the first class, and it is 23 kg for Economy class. 

NOTE: You will be awarded an extra allowance if you are an Elite or Elite Plus member. For example, for Elite, it is 10 kg, whereas for Elite Plus, it is 20 kg. 

Can you use a credit card to reimburse for the checked baggage fee?

Generally, you get 2 free checked baggage but if you wish to get the additional one, the charges begin from $200. However, to get reimbursed for the same on Korean Air, there are a multitude of credit cards that you can use, and this will let you redeem Capital One miles for 1 cent each as a statement credit for your past flight purchases.
