What are the rules for children on China Airlines?

• Infants

  • On the boarding day of the flight, the child should be under the age of 2 as only then will it be considered an infant. 
  • People with infants can travel on the bulkhead seat, which will provide more space than the bassinet given by the airline. 
  • The infant should be older than 14 days on the day of travel and be accompanied by an adult. 
  • If the infant is less than 14 days old, then the airline will not allow the baby to travel with the airline. 
  • When traveling with an adult, if the infant does not occupy the seat, it will be charged with infant fare. 
  • The weight of the bassinets of infants should be less than 71cm/28 inches and weight less than 11kg/24.2. 

• Children

  • Children from the age of 2 to 11 fall into the category of child, where they are supposed to be accompanied by an adult. 
  • Until the age of 18, a child is not permitted to travel alone on the flight. 
  • The seat of an adult traveling with the child should be near to the child restraint system. 
  • If the child weighs more than 18 kg may not be required to use CRS.

  • Make sure you bring it with 22 - 44 lb (10 - 20 kg) weight, and when it comes to height, then it should be under 100 cm (40 in).

• Unaccompanied Minors

  • The request for unaccompanied travel can be accepted for kids aged 5 to 11 years.
  • The application needs to be submitted at least 72 hours before the scheduled departure. 
  • If the person accompanying the child is under the age of 18, the airline will still consider it unaccompanied. 
  • Economy and Premium Economy accepts unaccompanied minors that are between the ages of 5 and 11. 
  • When it comes to the first class, the age of the unaccompanied minors should be between 8 and 11 years. 
  • Make sure you have all the required documents as the airline will accept the request only after going through all the verification.
