On Thursday, Qatar Airways forbade pagers and walkie-talkies on flights departing from the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport following the directive received from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Lebanon. This measure was taken in response to the contemporary detonation involving these devices, which has resulted in consequential casualties.
Therefore, the Airline announced that the restrictions apply to checked and carry-on luggage, as well as Cargo, and will be enforced until the next directive.
Effective Immediately: Qatar Airways Stated: Following the directive from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Lebanon, all passengers flying from Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) are prohibited from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on board flights. The ban applies to both checked and carry-on luggage and Cargo and will be enforced until further notice.
The blast has resulted in devastating consequences. According to the reports by Al Jazeera, at least 20 people lost their lives, and over 450 were bruised in Lebanon. Despite that, before the latest attack, a coordinated explosion of pagers in Lebanon in which 12 people were killed and almost 2800 people were wounded.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that it had launched targeted strikes against Hezbollah terrorist capabilities and infrastructure in Lebanon.
Therefore, the IDF stated, 'The IDF is currently striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon to degrade Hezbollah terrorist capabilities and infrastructures. For decades, Hezbollah has weaponized civilian homes, dug tunnels beneath them, and used civilians as human shields, having turned southern Lebanon into a war zone.
In the meantime, Israel's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant declared, ' We have entered the 'new phase' in the war, and asserted that the focus is on the northern arena. We are operating to bring security to northern Israel to enable the return of residents to their homes and achieve war goals.
Ultimately, on Wednesday, dozens of ambulance and emergency responders from the Lebanese Red Cross were actively involved in rescuing and evacuating the wounded people after a Walkie-talkie pager explosion in Lebanon.
This Explosion was cold-blooded due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which has been sticking deadly airstrikes; however, the Lebanese Foreign Minister also described the attack as a 'dangerous and deliberate Israeli escalation.' It has been said that it was accompanied by Israeli threats to expand the war towards Lebanon on a Large scale.
