For the attacks in Beirut, after Qatar Airways, Emirates is tracing its path to cancel the flights.
The largest Dubai-based airline, Emirates, has banned walkie-talkies and pagers from being carried on board. A prohibition has been made for passengers who are traveling to or from Dubai, as well as the flights with the layover destination in the city on both checked-in and carry-on luggage. The ban was implemented after the attacks which was triggered by these devices. The explosion has been linked to the Hezbollah groups, and Iran, who backs them, is being blamed for the incident.
The flight cancellation and suspension have been extended until October 15 Emirates, and additionally, many other airlines’ services have been halted from the Beirut Airport and also other Middle Eastern destinations. The blast resulting in the cancellation has caused more than 37 deaths and around 3000 casualties. Along with flights to the Middle East, flights to Iran and Iraq have also been canceled. However, the flights to Jordan are being seen to revamp service from the subsequent Sunday.
“All Passengers traveling on flights to, from, or via Dubai are prohibited from transporting pagers and walkie-talkies in checked or cabin baggage. Such items found in passengers’ hand luggage or checked baggage will be confiscated by Dubai Police”, is what the airline posted on its website. The airline took to X (previously Twitter) to post the news in the wake of the safety of the passengers and control the tension being created by the attacks with pagers and walkie-talkies.
After the subsequent attacks through both devices, Lebanon held Israel responsible for the same, and the explosives in the device were laced, i.e., the explosive material was properly and sophisticatedly placed, which could barely attract any attention.
